Koyasan from Osaka (2026): World Heritage Ticket, Getting There and Temple Stays
Koyasan is a mountain-top temple town south of Osaka, reached by the Nankai Koya Line, a cable car and a bus. The simplest way to pay for all of it is Nankai's Koyasan World Heritage Digital Ticket: ¥3,980 from Namba, or ¥4,910 with a reserved limited express seat on the way up.
A day trip works if you leave Osaka early. The ticket is valid for two days, so you can also stay one night in a temple lodging (shukubo) and split the sights over two days.

Is the Koyasan World Heritage Ticket worth it?
For most visitors, yes. It bundles the round trip, the cable car and two days of buses on the mountain, plus small discounts at three halls. The Nankai Rinkan bus links Koyasan Station with stops such as Senjuin-bashi and Okunoin-mae, so the 2-day bus pass gets used.

You can change the train up to two times, until five minutes before departure. A full refund (no fee) is possible until five minutes before the reserved train, if the ticket is unused. Only the buyer can request it.

What if…?
…I'm staying overnight with a big suitcase?
You change from train to cable car to bus on the way up. To travel light, leave the suitcase at your Osaka hotel or send it ahead to your next stop and go up with a day bag.
Luggage delivery on Klook ↗…my limited express is cancelled?
Nankai says the express fee is refunded to your card automatically, which can take about two days. The ticket itself still works on other trains.
…I go in winter?
Koyasan is up in the mountains and colder than Osaka, so bring warm clothes. Check each temple's or facility's hours for your date before you go.
