Chubu Centrair Airport to Nagoya (2026): μSKY or a Regular Meitetsu Train?
Take the Meitetsu train. The fastest is the μSKY Limited Express to Meitetsu Nagoya: every car is first class, so you need a ¥450 μticket on top of the regular fare. Don't want to pay extra? Ordinary cars on the other Limited Express and Express trains need only the fare.
You can tap a contactless Visa or other bank card at the gates at the airport and at Meitetsu Nagoya. We read Meitetsu's official English pages on 6 November 2026. The airport's own site blocked automated checks, so this page doesn't cover airport buses. The ¥980 fare and the times come from Meitetsu's own route search.

Which Meitetsu train should I take?
μSKY Limited Express
2000 series, all first class. Fare + ¥450 μticket. Board from platform 1. Free Wi-Fi.
Rapid Limited Express / Limited Express
Cars 1 and 2 are first class (μticket). The rest are ordinary cars: fare only. Platforms 2 or 3.
Express and slower trains
Fare only. Slower, with more stops.
Is μSKY worth the ¥450?
Pay it if you want a reserved seat on the fastest train. Riding an ordinary car on a Limited Express saves the ¥450 μticket, takes about 9 minutes longer, and comes with no guaranteed seat.
A JR Pass doesn't cover Meitetsu. You pay the fare even if you hold one.
How to buy and board
Walk to the Meitetsu gate from Access Plaza
Follow the signs from Access Plaza to the Meitetsu ticket gate. Tickets and μtickets are sold to the left of the gate.
Buy the fare and, for μSKY, a μticket
Buy a regular ticket (or use an IC card or bank card at the gate) plus a μticket for a specific train and seat. μtickets are only valid for the train printed on them.
Or tap a bank card at the gate
Tap to Ride works at Central Japan International Airport and Meitetsu Nagoya gates with a card or phone showing the contactless mark. One card per person; only the cardholder can use it.
Go right for μSKY (platform 1)
After the gate, μSKY leaves from platform 1. Check the signs above the platform doors for where first-class cars stop. Other trains use platforms 2 and 3.
What should I know about the μticket?
- ¥450, the same for adults and children
- Required for every car on μSKY, and for cars 1–2 on Rapid Limited Express and Limited Express
- On sale from one month before the ride at stations (5:10–0:15), and through Meitetsu's internet reservation
- Valid only for the train on the ticket. If you miss it, no change or refund
- Bought on board it costs ¥500, and if every seat is taken you stand and still pay it
What if…?
…I miss the μSKY on my μticket?
The μticket can't be changed or refunded once the train has left. Buy a new one, or ride an ordinary car on the next Limited Express with your fare ticket.
…I'm travelling with children and tapping a bank card?
Tap to Ride charges the adult fare. Buy child tickets at the machine instead.
…I'm going straight to Ghibli Park or LEGOLAND?
Both are reached from Nagoya. Go to Meitetsu Nagoya first, then change.
Ghibli Park tickets →…I'm continuing to Tokyo or Kyoto?
Walk from Meitetsu Nagoya to JR Nagoya Station for the Tokaido Shinkansen.
