Enoshima-Kamakura Freepass (2026): ¥1,640 from Shinjuku, Is It Worth It?

You're planning a day trip to Kamakura and Enoshima from Tokyo. If you start from Shinjuku or anywhere on the Odakyu line, the Enoshima-Kamakura Freepass is the cheap, simple choice: ¥1,640 for the round trip and a day of unlimited Enoden.

If you're staying near Tokyo Station or have a JR Pass, JR to Kamakura plus the ¥800 Enoden day ticket suits you better. We read Odakyu's and Enoden's official pages on 7 November 2026; prices below are from them.

Buy it on your phone. Odakyu sells the Freepass on its EMot site at the official price, up to four tickets on one phone.

Is the Enoshima-Kamakura Freepass worth it?

The Enoden day ticket alone costs ¥800, so from Shinjuku the Freepass charges ¥840 for the rest of the day:

Enoden 1-day ticket (Noriorikun)
¥800
Freepass from Shinjuku
¥1,640
What the other ¥840 covers
The Odakyu round trip from Shinjuku, plus local Odakyu trains in the area

Honest verdict: check the Odakyu return fare from your station to Fujisawa in a route app. If it's more than ¥840, the Freepass saves money, and either way it means fewer tickets to think about. From Tokyo Station or Shinagawa, the Freepass makes you cross to Shinjuku first, so JR straight to Kamakura is easier. For two or three days in the area plus Hakone, look at the Hakone Kamakura Pass below.

A one-day route with the Freepass

  1. MorningShinjuku → Fujisawa on an Odakyu express (covered), or the Romancecar to Katase-Enoshima with a seat fee.
  2. Late morningEnoden to Hase for the Great Buddha and Hasedera, then on to Kamakura for Tsurugaoka Hachimangu and Komachi-dori.
  3. AfternoonEnoden back to Enoshima. Walk over the bridge to the island and its shrines, or stop at Kamakurakokomae for the sea view.
  4. EveningKatase-Enoshima → Shinjuku on Odakyu (covered).
Arriving at Kamakura first by JR is not covered by the Freepass, so with this pass begin at Fujisawa or Katase-Enoshima.

How do you buy it on your phone?

  1. Open EMot Online Tickets and choose the Enoshima-Kamakura Freepass. Pick your starting station. For a group on one phone, choose For Group, up to 4 tickets.
  2. Pay and keep the QR code on your phone. Card payment on the site. Children without a phone can travel on a group purchase.
  3. Scan the QR code at the Odakyu gates. In a group, scan each companion's code first and your own last, and stay together all day. Odakyu's page doesn't say how the phone pass is used on the Enoden, so follow the instructions shown with your ticket. A paper ticket from a machine goes into the gate like a normal ticket.
A phone pass needs data all day. A Japan eSIM is the simplest fix.

  4. Want the Romancecar? Buy the seat fee separately: +¥750 one way from Shinjuku (¥50 cheaper online).
