Hiroshima Passes (2026): Which One for the Peace Park and Miyajima, from ¥1,000 a Day
You'll spend a day or two in Hiroshima, with the Peace Park and Miyajima, and want to know which pass to buy. Inside the city, a ¥1,000 one-day pass (Hiroden's tram-and-ferry pass, or the Visit Hiroshima Tourist Pass) covers the trams and the Miyajima ferry. Getting to Hiroshima is a separate question: from Osaka, the Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass (¥17,000) costs less than a Nozomi round trip.
None of the city passes covers JR trains, which is the fastest way to the Miyajima ferry. That's the main trade-off.

Which pass for the Peace Park and Miyajima?
Hiroden 1 Day Streetcar and Ferry Pass
All Hiroden tram lines, plus the Miyajima Matsudai Kisen ferry between Miyajimaguchi and Miyajima. Not valid on the JR Miyajima Ferry or JR trains. Sold at Hiroshima Station's transport information centre, on the trams and at major hotels.
Visit Hiroshima Tourist Pass
All Hiroden trams, both Miyajima ferries (Matsudai Kisen and JR), route buses in the city area and the meipuru-pu sightseeing loop bus. Sold at Hiroshima Airport, Hiroshima Station and Hiroshima Bus Center, and as a digital pass on MOBIRY TRAVEL. Hiroden's English page lists adult prices only and doesn't say whether the Miyajima visitor tax is included, so ask about child prices and the tax when you buy.
Visit Hiroshima Tourist Pass, 3 Day Middle Area
Adds suburban buses around Kure, Takehara, Mihara, Higashihiroshima and Iwakuni, and some express buses (up to two rides). For Iwakuni's Kintai Bridge or Kure.
From Hiroden's English pages on Nov 7, 2026.
Is a one-day pass worth it for Hiroshima and Miyajima?
So the pass saves a little and saves fiddling with change. The cost is time: the tram to Miyajimaguchi takes about 70 minutes, while the JR train takes about 30 minutes, at a separate JR fare. If you'd rather take JR, the pass only covers the city trams and the ferry.
Getting to Hiroshima: which JR West pass?
All three are for foreign passport holders entering Japan as temporary visitors. They are sold by travel agencies outside Japan, on JR West's online booking site, and by travel agencies in Japan from one month before. JR West's pages say the information is current as of August 1, 2024, so check the price at checkout.
From Tokyo, none of these reaches you. A Tokyo ⇄ Hiroshima Nozomi is ¥19,760 each way: see whether a JR Pass pays off. JR Pass calculator → · Tokyo to Hiroshima by Shinkansen →
