Best Places to View Shibuya Crossing (2026): Street Level, MAG8 and SHIBUYA SKY Compared
You don't need a ticket to see Shibuya Crossing: walking across it is free. The famous shot from above is a different matter. The closest rooftop view costs ¥1,800 with a drink, and the highest view is SHIBUYA SKY.
The short answer: for the classic overhead photo of the crowd, go to the MAG8 rooftop on MAGNET by SHIBUYA109. For the whole city at sunset, book SHIBUYA SKY two weeks ahead. We checked both venues' official pages on 7 November 2026. We found no official page for a free indoor viewpoint, so we don't list one.

MAG8 rooftop: the closest view from above
CROSSING VIEW & ROOFTOP LOUNGE MAG8 is on the roof of MAGNET by SHIBUYA109, on the corner of the crossing. Your ¥1,800 includes one drink, and alcohol is on the menu. It's open 10:00–22:00, with last entry at 21:30.
It's the best place for the photo everyone wants: the crowd pouring across from every corner at once. Go after dark for the neon, and wait for a few light changes. The building itself closes on January 1.
