Coin Lockers and Luggage Storage in Japan (2026): Where to Leave Your Bags
Checked out at 10:00, train at 17:00? Leave the bag in a station coin locker, at your hotel or at a staffed storage counter, and see the city with empty hands. Lockers come in several sizes, so check the inside size before you pay for a large suitcase.
If you're moving to another city anyway, you can send the suitcase ahead and skip the locker hunt. We checked Narita Airport's storage pages, JR East's guide to the lockers at Sendai Station and a few attractions' locker rules on their official sites on 7 November 2026. Station locker prices and time limits are set by each operator and shown on the locker itself.

Staffed storage counter
Airport counters, such as Narita's below, store bags by size. Some stations have one too, such as BAGGAGE STORAGE+ at JR Sendai Station.
