teamLab Planets Tickets (2026): Prices, When They Go on Sale, and What to Wear

teamLab Planets in Toyosu sells no tickets on site, so you need a ticket for a date and a 30-minute entry window before you go. The official ticket store is the place to buy: it is the only one that lets you change your date and time yourself, up to three times.

Agency tickets are a fair choice if you'd rather book in your own language. We read the official pages on 6 November 2026; the prices and rules below are from them.

Prefer to book through an agency? Klook sells Planets tickets too. Agency tickets can't be changed on the official store.

When do teamLab Planets tickets go on sale?

There is no fixed rule like "60 days before". teamLab releases a month at a time and posts a note at the top of its page. On 6 November 2026 the note said February tickets would go on sale in late November, so roughly two to three months ahead.

The note gives no exact day or time, so check the official page about three months before your trip and book once your month appears.

What the official pages showed on Nov 6, 2026

teamlab.art/e/planets: adult ¥3,800 with a dynamic-pricing note, Premium Pass ¥12,000, hours 8:00–22:00, and "Tickets are not sold on-site" in the FAQ.

The same page said over 70% of visitors bought tickets before arriving in Japan. Booking from home is normal here.

Official store, Lawson or Klook: which ticket should you buy?

Best for most people

Official ticket store (DMM)

The only ticket you can move yourself: up to 3 changes, until 2 hours before your slot. Pay by card (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Amex, Diners) as a guest, or PayPay or UnionPay.

Convenience store

Lawson Ticket / Seven Ticket

Official outlets too, but changes go through them, not the teamLab store.

The official Skytree site also sells a Skytree + teamLab Planets set from ¥7,100. It can't be cancelled. Skytree tickets →

How to book on the official store

  1. Open the official page and press Buy Tickets. It takes you to the ticket store at teamlabplanets.dmm.com.
  2. Pick your date and a 30-minute entry window. The time on the ticket is when you join the entry queue, not how long you can stay.
  3. Choose the ticket types, then pay. You don't need a DMM account: guests can pay by card, PayPay or UnionPay. One-time payment only.
  4. Save the QR code. You show it at the entrance. To change the time later, use "Change Admission Date and Time" in My Tickets.
You'll need data for the QR code and the Yurikamome map. A Japan eSIM is the easy fix.

Can I change my ticket, or come late?

I can't go on my date.

There are no refunds. Official-store tickets can be moved up to 3 times, until 2 hours before your slot (a 10:00 slot can be changed until 8:00). Tickets bought from agencies or convenience stores: ask where you bought them.

I'll be late for my slot.

The official FAQ says you can still enter the same day during opening hours. Tell a staff member at the venue. Last entry is an hour before closing.

I bought several tickets in one order and only one person changed plans.

You can't change part of an order. Everyone moves together, or no one does.

What should I wear to teamLab Planets?

  • You go barefoot: shoes and socks go into a free locker (23 × 34 × 37 cm). Large suitcases won't fit.
  • Water can reach knee height on adults. Wear trousers you can roll up, or borrow free shorts (sizes XS–6L).
  • Some rooms have mirrored floors. Free rental shorts or wraps are available if you need them.
  • Bring a change of clothes for small children. Wet clothes can't go into the next artwork; towels can be rented.
  • Children under 13 must come with someone 18 or over, and there must be one adult per three children.
  • Pregnant visitors can't enter some areas. Re-entry isn't allowed.

Is teamLab Planets worth it? And Planets or Borderless?

If you only pick one teamLab in Tokyo, choose by how you like to move. Planets is walked barefoot, partly in knee-deep water. Borderless in Azabudai calls itself "a museum without a map": no map, no set route.

Planets (Toyosu)
Barefoot, water rooms. Adults ¥3,800. Open until the end of 2027.
Borderless (Azabudai)
No map, free route. Adults ¥3,400. Permanent. Both use dynamic pricing.
