Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan Tickets (2026): Timed Entry, Date-Based Prices, Official Site or Klook
You're planning a day at Kaiyukan, Osaka's big aquarium with the whale sharks, and wondering whether to book ahead. Entry is by date and time slot, and the price depends on the day.
The short answer: buy an e-ticket for your slot once your date is fixed, from the official site or Klook. The window only sells for the same day, and on busy days the time you want may be gone.
Some links on this page are affiliate links. We show the official e-ticket first; compare the price for your date before you buy.
Should you buy on the official site or Klook?
Both give you a dated e-ticket. The official site is the aquarium's own price for your day. Klook is useful if you would rather pay in your own currency.

Kaiyukan uses variable pricing: each day has its own price, set by expected demand, and the official price calendar shows the adult fare for each date. The price does not simply follow the day of the week: in November 2026 most Saturdays and Sundays are ¥2,800, the same as weekdays, while the Nov 21–23 holiday weekend is ¥3,200–3,500. Check your own date.
The official calendar for November and December 2026 uses five adult prices: ¥2,700, ¥2,800, ¥2,900, ¥3,200 and ¥3,500. Children (elementary and junior high school, 7–15) pay ¥1,400 to ¥1,800, and ages 3–6 pay ¥700 to ¥900. "Adult" means 16 and over, including high school students. Age 2 and under is free. People with a disability certificate and one carer pay half.

Is Kaiyukan worth it?
For most visitors, yes. It's one of the best-known aquariums in Japan, the route spirals down around a huge central tank, and it works in any weather.
It is out at the bay, so pair it with things nearby rather than a quick stop between Namba sights. Set tickets with the Santa Maria cruise, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Osaka or the Captain Line ferry are sold if you want a full bay day.
Getting there
Take the Osaka Metro Chuo Line to Osakako and use exit 1: about 5 minutes on foot. From Osaka Station you can also take city bus 88 to Tempozan Harbor Village, and from Namba bus 60. An IC card works on both. ICOCA for visitors →
