Pokémon Café Osaka Reservations (2026): When Booking Opens, the Rules, and What to Do If It's Full

You want a table at Pokémon Café Osaka in Shinsaibashi. You need a reservation: the café doesn't take walk-ins.

The answer: a whole month of slots opens at 18:00 Japan time on the 1st of the month before your visit, online only. Be on the booking site a few minutes early. The café's FAQ describes booking only on its own reservation site, so plan on booking it yourself.

Some links on this page are affiliate links, for things nearby. Café seats are sold only on the official site.

When can you book Pokémon Café Osaka?

Reservations for a whole month open at once, at 18:00 Japan time on the 1st of the month before. For a visit on March 20, you book on February 1 at 18:00. The café announces each month on its NEWS page, and the dates can change, so check there before the 1st.

Checked on Nov 7, 2026

The official NEWS page said reservations for Dec 1–31, 2026 opened at 18:00 on Sunday, Nov 1, 2026, and that dates from Jan 1, 2027 will be announced later. The post covers both cafés.

The official FAQ lists the Osaka address (Daimaru Shinsaibashi Main Building 9F), hours 10:00–20:00 with last order at 19:00, booking until 08:00 on the day, online cancellation until 22:00 the day before, a 90-minute stay, and automatic cancellation if you haven't checked in 10 minutes after your time.

The reservation site itself (reserve.pokemon-cafe.jp) refused our automated request, so we have not seen the booking screens.

How to book, step by step

Have everything ready before 18:00 Japan time: the number of guests, your date and a few time options.

  1. Open the official site before 18:00 Japan time. Choose the Osaka store, not Tokyo, then follow the on-screen steps.
  2. Enter the number of guests. Count every child, including babies. Up to 6 per booking.
  3. Pick the date, then a time and seat type. Osaka has seat types for 2–6 and 1–6 people. You can't choose a specific seat.
  4. Enter your name and email, and confirm. Groups of 7 or more must make separate bookings with different email addresses.
  5. Keep the confirmation email. Arrive at least 10 minutes early. Late arrival doesn't extend your 90 minutes, and if you haven't checked in 10 minutes after your time, the booking is cancelled automatically.
You'll want data to open the email and find Daimaru's 9th floor. A Japan eSIM is the easiest fix.

What if every slot is gone?

Every slot is taken

Check again in the days before your visit. People cancel up to 22:00 the day before, and their slots go back on the site. You can still book until 08:00 on the day.

Can I just turn up?

No. The café takes no walk-ins. Seats only free up through last-minute cancellations.

Can a tour or agency get me a seat?

The café's FAQ describes booking only on its own reservation site. Be careful with anyone reselling a reservation.

I can't book on the day it opens

Set an alarm: 18:00 Japan time is 17:00 in Hong Kong and Taipei, 09:00 in London (10:00 in summer).

If you only want the goods, you can visit without a seat booking to buy café items, in limited quantities.

Is it worth the effort?

If you or your kids love Pokémon, yes: the food is themed, and the café's FAQ mentions a short show of about 10 minutes, which can change or be cancelled without notice. It's a 90-minute meal, not an attraction, so fit it around shopping in Shinsaibashi rather than building a day on it.

If you're going to Tokyo too, the Tokyo café uses the same rule. Booking whichever city has free slots is the easy win. Pokémon Café Tokyo guide →
