Klook Pass Tokyo and Other Combo Sightseeing Passes: Do They Actually Save Money? (2026)

You've seen Klook Pass Tokyo or a similar bundle and want to know if it really saves money. It can, but only when every attraction in it is one you'd pay for anyway and you pick the expensive ones. Pick the cheaper venues, or ones you'd skip, and single tickets from the official sites come out cheaper.

The bigger catch is time slots. A pass doesn't reserve a slot for you: the sunset at SHIBUYA SKY, a weekend at teamLab, still have to be booked, and they can be full.

Only want one or two places? Single tickets are simpler. SHIBUYA SKY sells web tickets from two weeks before, at 00:00 Japan time.

Does a combo pass pay off? Two examples

Where a pass can win

Three expensive picks

Official total ¥10,200

SHIBUYA SKY after 15:00 (¥3,400) + teamLab Planets (¥3,800) + both Skytree decks (¥3,000). A three-attraction pass priced under ¥10,200 saves money, as long as it includes the sunset time and the Skytree upper deck.

Where it loses

Three cheaper picks

Official total ¥5,500

Tokyo Tower Main Deck (¥1,500) + Skytree Tembo Deck (¥1,800) + Tokyo City View online (¥2,200). Unless a three-attraction pass costs less than ¥5,500, buying each ticket is cheaper.

Compare the pass price for the number of attractions you'll pick with the official totals above. If the saving is small, single tickets keep you flexible: you can change plans one venue at a time.

What are the catches with sightseeing passes?

Does the pass include the sunset slot?

SHIBUYA SKY itself charges more from 15:00. Before you buy, check on the product page which entry times the pass covers and whether a later time costs extra.

Can I still get a time slot?

A pass is not a reservation. Popular venues release slots on their own schedule, and when they're gone the pass doesn't help. Book slots as soon as you buy.

What if I don't use one attraction?

With Klook Pass, you can cancel for a refund only until you reserve your first attraction; once one is reserved or used, there's no cancellation or refund, and nothing back when the pass expires. Other bundles set their own rules, so read them. Leave a spare day so one rainy afternoon doesn't cost you a ticket.

Is the price on the venue's own site lower?

Several venues give an online discount (SHIBUYA SKY ¥300, Skytree ¥500 against the counter). Compare with the online price, not the gate price.

How to check a combo pass before you buy

  1. Write down the attractions you'd visit even without a pass. Only those count towards the saving.
  2. Add up their official online prices. Use the times you'd actually go: SHIBUYA SKY after 15:00 is ¥3,400, not ¥2,700.
  3. Compare with the pass price for that number of attractions. Check whether the pass covers the exact ticket type (upper deck, sunset time).
  4. Read the validity and refund rules. How many days you have after the first use, and what happens to unused attractions.
Passes, QR codes and time-slot bookings all sit on your phone.

What the official pages said on Nov 6, 2026

Checked on Nov 6, 2026

SHIBUYA SKY's ticket page: ¥2,700 online for entry until 14:59 and ¥3,400 from 15:00; ¥3,000 and ¥3,700 at the counter.

teamLab Planets: adults ¥3,800 with date-based pricing. Tokyo Skytree: Tembo Deck from ¥1,800, both decks from ¥3,000, ¥500 extra at the counter. Tokyo Tower: Main Deck ¥1,500, Top Deck Tour ¥3,300 online.

Tokyo Metro's Tokyo City Pass release (September 3, 2026): base pass ¥1,900 for 1 day as a limited-time price, with add-on prices listed next to each venue's regular price.

On Nov 7, 2026, Klook's Klook Pass FAQ said: you can cancel and get a refund only before making any reservation and within the activation validity; once one activity is reserved or used, no cancellation or refund. The Klook Pass Greater Tokyo product page could not be opened, so this page doesn't list its attractions, prices or deadlines: check them there.

Before you buy

A combo pass is a discount on a plan you already have, not a reason to make one. Add up the official online prices for the places you'd really go. If the pass doesn't beat that clearly, buy single tickets and keep the freedom to change your mind.
